The Electron Microscopy Core Facility is part of the Innovative Electron Microscopy Department. It ensures day-to-day operation of the electron microscopy facility and provides service to researchers at INM covering a large spectrum of electron microscopy techniques (from sample preparation to image analysis) on a broad variety of samples (from hard hybrid materials to soft hydrogels). The core facility team performs the experiments, assists researchers with their use of the facility equipment, provides training for users, and consults regarding best practices for electron microscopy sample preparation, imaging techniques and image processing.
The Service Group works in close cooperation with different research departments at INM, research groups of Saarland University and other institutions on the Campus. The Service Group is also involved in method development at the Innovative Electron Microscopy Department.
