The Particle-Based Materials Symposium is a small workshop that has, in the last 5 years, brought together (mainly) young scientists and engineers from different communities that all share the goal of creating functionality in materials using particles. As in 2020, the PBM Symposium will be organized virtually. It will take place as a zoom meeting […]
The opening of the exhibition “Colorful – Small – Everywhere. Microplastics from the river to the sea” will take place on Friday, 11.06.2021 at 15:00, in the NTNM Library as a closed event. The exhibition will be open until July 31.
A new paradigm in material synthesis is emerging, in which living cells are incorporated into non-living matter to augment it with programmable, life-like capabilities. This results from the integration of synthetic biology tools in materials research and promises to deliver a whole new generation of high-performance material systems. Engineered Living Materials open new avenues for […]
The PBM Symposium, which has been held annually at different research locations in Germany so far, will be organized virtually this year. A strong focus will be on applications of particle-based materials and on the extension of the Network over Europe and the World. Participation is free of charge.
For the third time, INM is organizing a virtual mini-symposium, this time on “Bioprocessed and Bioinspired Materials”. In three lectures, international scientists will examine the topic from their respective perspectives. Speakers: Prof. André R. Studart, ETH Zürich, Switzerland Prof. Wilfried Weber, University Freiburg, Germany Prof. Amar Mohanty, University of Guelph, Canada
The conference will focus on three highly relevant aspects of nanosafety research: “Development of safe nanomaterials”, “Toxicological aspects – from molecular mechanisms to prediction”, and “Nanomaterials and the environment”.
Speakers: Kaspar Althoefer – Queen Mary University of London, UK Bas Overvelde – AMOLF, Amsterdam, NL Janos Vörös – ETH Zürich, CH Matteo Cianchetti – Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, IT Please click for further information!
