Doktorand (m/w/d) synthetische organische/Polymer-Chemie oder Biomaterial-Chemie

The research group Dynamic Biomaterials develops hydrogels for 3D Bioprinting and cell encapsulation. We aim to complement our team with a Doctoral student to work in a DFG funded project.The candidate should have a degree in synthetic organic/polymer chemistry or biomaterials chemistry, and be interested in the following topics:

  • Water-based chemical reactions
  • Functional hydrogels for 3D cell culture
  • Additive manufacturing (3D bioprinting) of biomaterials

The successful candidate will become member of an active research group with a strong international network. The candidate should be highly motivated and show a proactive team spirit. INM offers an excellent research infrastructure for fundamental and industrial work. Affinity to interdisciplinary cooperation and excellent proficiency in English language are expected from the candidate.

Your work will include the following tasks:

  • Synthesis of polymeric building blocks and crosslinked networks
  • Hydrogel materials characterization (physicochemical, mechanical, biological)
  • Design and integration of biomaterials for medical applications

Salary and working hours are in accordance with the German state public service salary scale (TV-L) and the accordant social benefits.
