PHD Student Tissue Engineering and/or Cell Therapies (M/F/D)
The INM’s research group Dynamic Biomaterials develops hydrogels to encapsulate and interface living cells. One exciting research line involves synthetic hydrogels containing light-responsive functionalities, and their application as cell-instructive materials for in vivo cell-based therapies for regeneration. To fully develop these materials into future technologies and therapies, we are looking for a PhD candidate interested in interdisciplinary and translational work between medical and materials sciences. This project is embedded in a collaboration between INM and medical partners at University Clinic Homburg.
PhD Student Tissue engineering and/or cell therapies (M/F/D)
(starting date: asap, salary level 13 TV-L 50% (with potential increase during the project), 39,5h/week, 3 years).
- background in (human) cell biology or bioengineering with experience in in vitro cell culture
- previous experience in in vivo work is an added benefit
- self-motivated, good interpersonal, communication skills
- proficiency in English
The project is part of a cooperative program and the candidate is expected to closely interact with the involved partners in a proactive manner. Training and supervision in the different fields will be provided directly by experts within the consortium.
