Laboratory Technician (M/F/D): Chemical-/Biological-/Technical-Assistant with Experience in Culturing Bacteria
The INM research group Bioprogrammable Materials is looking for a laboratory technician (Chemical-/Biological-/Technical-Assistant) (M/F/D) with a strong base knowledge of cultivating bacteria at S1 level or preferably at S2 level. Our group engineers bacteria for therapeutics and sensing applications. We work on different types of bacterial strains like E. coli, lactobacilli and Corynebacterium. One therapeutic function that we are engineering is anti-microbial, which will be tested against S2 level pathogenic bacteria like P. aeruginosa and S. aureus.
For this, we are seeking an enthusiastic laboratory technician who is interested in working in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
Major duties/responsibilities:
- Organization of biology labs
- Taking care of instruments (measurements and maintenance)
- Placing orders
- Participating in projects that involve bacterial synthetic biology
Potential candidates should have a good completed vocational training as biology or chemistry lab technician or equivalent qualifications. Candidates should be self-motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills in English for working in a multi-national environment.
